Apocalypse and Survival by Memphis

I normally don’t speak much on here. Today however, I wish to share some thoughts with you and I hope they are helpful to all here who are aware and considerate toward the future zombie apocalypse that draws near.

Let’s face it. When the the time comes, very few of us will be truly prepared. I intend to be among that few and even to help to increase this number myself in whatever way I can. When that time does come, there should be a very clear procedure and plan to begin your apocalyptic survival. I dare not believe there is only one correct approach as everyone lives in different areas and has only certain things available to them to get to safety as quickly as possible. So in consideration of that note, I wish to lay out my plan. Keep in mind that as of this moment, this plan is very very broad and basic and does not get into detail. This is for you (the visitor here) to add, and later I will release a new, more complete draft.

When the time comes, if it approaches abruptly and swiftly:

1. Steal a truck or van of some kind which is reliable and will help you transport things you need.
2. Head to the largest store available. I will be raiding Walmart and Lowe’s specifically, filling my truck up with food, tools, and accessories.
3. Travel to the nearest military base for shelter. This will be an important place to gather weapons and meet up with very battle-ready comrades to give you any support they can.
4. If you are planning on bunking down and waiting, find information on the nearest underground bunker. Make sure it is large and not already being used by an uncomfortably large number of people.
5. If you plan to travel about and expand your services and reception of them from others, find yourself a vehicle that is very light on gas, yet which you can carry all your essentials in.
6. Establish more than one safety posts whether they are bunkers, safe-houses, gated towns, or even remote outposts where you know the area extremely well and have efficient and clever means of roaming.
7. Gain actual experience with killing zombies. At first you will be very scared and might even go into shock from seeing blood, exposed flesh, and severed limbs. This is expected, but you are expected to get accustomed to this experience.
8. When the apocalypse has hit, you have two choices: To trust reasonably, or to cut off all trust and hoard yourself. The second choice is very very dangerous as you will have limited yourself from learning and gaining valuable survival support from others.
9. Better yourself. Your mental and physical condition must both be in at least decent shape for you to survive. Exercise regularly, eat healthy, read books, learn things (even the small things can make a difference), and find ways to entertain yourself and others for essential morale.
10. Realize that during this time, it’s not the end of life. It is simply a change in your way of life. Things have gotten darker, but many things have become very clearly more important and more beautiful than ever. And that means you will have a chance to shine like you’ve never gotten to before. Take this chance and run with it!

For now, that’s all I’ve got, but again, I encourage you to add to this and even repost it so the word is spread. I know that many of you fellow survivors out there have your own guides which are all different in one way or another. Well this is mine, and I’m happy to share it.
